Adfunc AS was established in 2007 with the aim of providing solutions to online businesses. The aim of the software was to increase the affectivity of the sales teams.
The first solution that has been rolled out by Adfunc is a "Booking System" that enables sales people to book their orders taking into consideration the availability and effectiveness. The system has gone through several phases of development and is today in use at leading online portals in Norway.
Prior to using Adfunc’s booking system, several of these organizations were using Excel as the standard for booking orders. Not only was it ineffective, it was also error prone. What online businesses sell are placements. The number of impressions that can be served by each placement are determined by the number of page views
To understand the complexity easily, assume a shopping chain that has as many products as the number of placements. The purchase patterns vary by day and the goods have to be ordered such that everyone who comes into the shop is able to get what they want. That is basically the challenge that our system addresses for the Online business.
The use of the Booking system by the customers in the last 2 years has resulted in organizations demanding more from it. Today the system is in use by:
(a) Sales Personnel for booking orders
(b) Traffic department to receive the information and publish the ads.
(c) Management to see reports.
This has resulted in us enhancing the product to integrate with Adservers. Adservers are software that are responsible for delivering the ads that we book to the website
